Committee and Fundraising
Dicker House Preschool is a registered charity and is run by a volunteer parent committee…
Dicker House is managed by an elected Committee of volunteer parents who are responsible for the fundraising, finance, policy making and staffing of Dicker House. We would like to encourage you to join the Committee as new ideas are warmly welcomed. Meetings are held at regular intervals, usually at the home of a Committee member in the evenings.
We have our AGM about January each year when the committee is re-elected and new members proposed although you are of course invited to join whenever it suits you! As a registered charity, the preschool relies on parent membership of the committee as we are not allowed to operate without a fully functioning committee. Being involved with the committee is not all hard work, and parents find that it is a good opportunity to become actively involved in all aspects of the preschool.
Before each event we always put out a note asking for potential helpers, items we are collecting, and times we require help for, so please look out for these extra letters in your child's trays or on the notice boards. Full details of the current Committee are on the notice board in the foyer. Please see any committee member, the manager or supervisor if you would be interested in joining or have any new ideas for us!

Paula Committee Chair
I joined the committee in 2016 when my Son started at Dicker House as I like to get involved and help organise fundraising events. It's a nice way to meet other parents and to be part of discussions and ultimate decisions made on how the Pre School is run. I have been Chair of Committee since September 2018 when my Daughter also went through Dicker House Pre School.
About the committee
We are a friendly, fun and motivated group of parents who meet virtually on the last Monday before every school holiday to discuss ways we can raise money for Dicker House, how we can best spend any sponsorship money and any other points to discuss. Dicker House Preschool is Committee run and requires a minimum of 5 members and therefore our role is vital in it's smooth running.
If you are interested in joining the committee we would love to hear from you and really appreciate any help you can offer.
Beverley Committee Secretary
I joined the Dicker House Committee in 2019 whilst my second son attended the preschool. Both he and his older brother have attended Dicker House and have loved it and thrived. The staff are all wonderful and show real dedication to their jobs and the children and it's for that reason I wanted to join the PTA and, hopefully, contribute as well as participating in the preschool community.
Abigail Treasurer
I joined the committee in January 2019 when my son started at the preschool. They did a lot for my son and I look forward to my daughter starting there soon. Without the committee, the preschool couldn't run so I felt it was important to join. It's a lovely group and I have really enjoyed helping to raise funds and supporting the preschool in anyway that I can.
Noemi Committee Book Keeper
I joined the committee as Bookkeeper in 2016 when my son attended his first year at Dicker House. I fell into this role a bit by chance, and since have enjoyed being part of the life and evolution of Dicker House. The committee is formed by a group of motivated and friendly mothers who help to insure the smooth running of the Pre School. Although my son has now left Dicker House to start school, I have decided to continue my role as Bookkeeper to ensure continuity within the role and also because I really do enjoy being part of this fun group of dedicated mothers!

I joined the committee in September 2021 when my Son started at Dicker House Preschool. Without the committee the preschool couldn’t run, so I felt it important to join as well as learning more about the preschool. It’s a great opportunity to meet fellow parents and help out where I can with fundraising and support the preschool in anyway I can.

I have just joined the committee, my eldest child currently attends and as we moved to Burgess Hill fairly recently I thought it would be nice to join and get to know other parents. Its a great preschool and my daughter is very happy here. I am looking forward to raising funds and plan events in the future to help support this lovely charity.

I joined the committee in January 2021. My eldest daughter is currently at Dicker House and youngest due to start later in the year. Dicker House had provided a fun and nurturing environment for my daughter and knowing that the preschool can’t run without parents in the committee, I wanted to contribute back by joining. It's a really friendly group of parents and I look forward to helping support the preschool.
